Volkswagen vehicle sales fell 6.8 percent in 2022
The Volkswagen Group, which includes the Audi, Bugatti, Seat, Skoda and Porsche brands, announced the 2022 motor vehicle delivery figures for the Volkswagen brand.
Consequently, deliveries of Volkswagen brand vehicles decreased by 6.8 percent in 2022 compared to the previous year and fell to 4.56 million.
Sales of the German manufacturer’s battery electric vehicles rose 23.6% last year to 330,000.
THE FLUCTUATION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE IN 2023
Notably, deliveries of battery electric vehicles in China, the Wolfsburg-based company’s largest sales market, increased by 102.9%.
Volkswagen also announced that it expects fluctuations in production and sales to continue into 2023 due to continued bottlenecks in the supply chain, with the situation gradually stabilizing throughout the year. (AA)
