THE 5 PERCENT HIGH-LIVING HAS ARRIVED ON JANUARY 1

Speaking to Sozcu.com.tr, the Turkey Manager of an automotive brand said: “Unfortunately, there was no reduction in car prices that would be reflected in the TUIK data. In fact, after the fiscal regulation of the SCT, prices increased, much less decreased. The sector, which closed 2022 with an increase of 150 percent, entered the new year with new increases in the range of 3 to 5 percent.

Noting that there will be new price increases with the entry into the market of 2023 model vehicles, the official made the following assessment:

“If the increase in inflation continues in this way, the pressure on the exchange rate will not continue after a while. With the new year, business expenses have increased, and they will rise up to tolerate this. I anticipate that the price of the car, which is currently 100 units, will increase to a low of 150, as in May and June.
