Automotive exports reached $2.76 billion in September
Turkey’s auto industry exported $2.76 billion worth of products in September.
According to the statement of the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters Association (OIB), the automotive industry’s exports in September increased by 11.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 2.753 million. Dollars.
Increasing its share in total exports to 13.9 percent, the auto industry maintained its second place in Turkey’s exports. In the January-September period this year, auto industry exports rose 5 percent to $22.3 billion, while the 9-month monthly average of exports was $2.5 billion.
SUPPLIES INDUSTRY EXPORTS INCREASE 13 PERCENT
Examining auto industry by-product groups, “supply industry” exports, which rose 13 percent in September to $1.182 billion, ranked first among the most exported product groups.
While the export of “passenger cars” increased by 26 percent to 807 million dollars, the export of “motor vehicles for the transport of goods” decreased by 25 percent to 425 million dollars.
In September, the fastest rate of increase in exports was recorded in the “tractors” group. The export of cranes increased 249 percent and reached 201 million dollars.
EXPORTS TO GERMANY, THE LARGEST MARKET, INCREASE BY 27 PERCENT
In September, exports to Germany, the auto industry’s biggest market, rose 27 percent to $403 million. Despite a 4 percent decline in exports to the UK, it came in second place at $324 million. France, where exports rose 35 percent to $270 million, ranked third.
In September, exports increased by 23% to Italy, 24% to Spain, 68% to Poland, 20% to Romania, 40% to Bulgaria, 32% to Sweden and 98% to the Czech Republic. Exports to Turkey fell by 12%, to Slovenia by 31 percent and to Egypt by 48 percent.
THE HIGHEST SEPTEMBER EXPORTS IN HISTORY
OIB board chairman Baran Celik, whose views are included in the statement, mentioned that the 12 percent increase in September after the 6 percent decline in August is significant.
Stating that there was a high rate of increase in exports to Germany, France and Poland last month, Çelik said: “The sector’s $2.75 billion export in September was the largest September export to date. On a product group basis, the largest export was seen in the supply industry, with passenger car exports increasing by double digits and tractor unit exports increasing by triple digits. (AA)
