Turkey’s passenger car exports exceeded $6.5 billion in 9 months

According to information compiled from Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters Association (OIB) data, representatives of the automotive sector sold passenger cars to 101 countries, autonomous regions and free zones in the January-September period.

In this period, the participation of passenger cars in the exports of the automotive industry, which reached 22 thousand 325 million 73 thousand dollars in sales abroad, was 29.37 percent.

European countries are the main export markets for the sector, and the largest export of passenger cars is to France. In the 9 months of the year, the export of automotive companies to this country was 948 million 759 thousand dollars.

In the same period last year, $1 billion 115 million 911 thousand dollars worth of passenger cars were shipped to France, and there was a 19 percent decline in passenger car exports.

Exports of 9-month passenger cars to England, which occupies the second place on the list, increased 35.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, going from 592 million 405 thousand dollars to 803 million 58 thousand dollars.

A total of 1,000 million 751 million 818 thousand dollars of foreign sales made to France and the United Kingdom constituted 26.71 percent of passenger car exports.

INCREASE OF 9 PERCENT TO SPAIN

Exports to Spain, which occupies the third place, increased 9.12 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, going from 582 million 196 thousand dollars to 635 million 299 thousand dollars.

In the January-September period, the representatives of the industry exported 592 million 111 thousand dollars to the fourth rank Italy and 538 million 113 thousand dollars to the fifth rank Germany.

Poland ranked sixth with $456,392,000, Slovenia seventh with $302,386,000, Israel eighth with $269,554,000, Belgium ninth with $199,443,000 and Egypt tenth with $172,375,000. Dollars.

The countries of the European Union constituted 7 of the 10 main markets in the export of passenger cars.

CAR SOLD IN ALGERIA

The increase in exports of passenger car manufacturers to some countries drew attention. In the same period this year, 4.2 million dollars worth of vehicles were sold to Algeria, where no passenger cars were exported in the January-September period of last year.

In the January-September period, the representatives of the sector increased their exports to Turkmenistan by 2,150 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, and increased exports to this country from 317 thousand dollars to 7 million 137 thousand dollars.

In this period, 6 million 967 thousand to Chile with an increase of 294 percent, 4 million 305 thousand to Azerbaijan-Nakhichevan with an increase of 204 percent, 3 million 702 thousand to Argentina with an increase of 539 percent, and 501 percent to Albania 3 million 631 thousand dollars and 2 million 340 thousand dollars of passenger cars were exported to the TRNC with an increase of 600 percent.
