‘War Cabinet’ convened… Critical meeting between US and Israel
The US State Department released a statement regarding Blinken’s meeting with Netanyahu and the War Cabinet, who arrived in Israel as part of their Middle East tour.
According to the statement, Blinken stated that the United States supports Israel’s “right to defend itself in accordance with international law.” Minister Blinken called on Israel to take all precautions to avoid harm to civilians.
Blinken emphasized that before any military operation in southern Gaza, civilians there must be protected and their needs taken into account. During the meeting, the issues of prisoner exchange and the acceleration of humanitarian aid delivered to Gaza were also discussed.

Blinken also met with President Isaac Herzog ahead of the War Cabinet meeting, and in his statement there he stated that detailed discussions would continue with the Israeli government on the roadmap forward in the Gaza Strip.
Before the meeting, Netanyahu stated that he wanted to discuss the “next stage” of attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip at the War Cabinet meeting, which Blinken also attended. (AA)
