Humanitarian pause between Hamas and Israel enters its seventh day

The “humanitarian pause”, in which an agreement was reached to suspend fighting between Israel and Hamas, continues into its seventh day.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said they will continue their attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip after prisoners held by Hamas are released. In the video message released by the Press Office, Netanyahu recalled that many Israeli prisoners were released within the framework of the agreement reached with Hamas.

In its statement, Hamas announced that two Russian citizens held captive in Gaza were freed last night in response to the efforts of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The statement states that the two freed captives were handed over to officials of the International Committee of the Red Cross and that the two Russian citizens were freed in response to Putin’s efforts.
Israel also confirmed that two captives with dual Russian-Israeli citizenship in Gaza were handed over to officials of the International Red Cross Organization.

Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers were reported to have killed 3 Palestinians for allegedly violating the “humanitarian pause” given to the conflict in Gaza. Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said three Palestinians, who he said “posed a threat to Israeli soldiers,” were killed. (AA)
