Terrifying activity on Etna volcano

The Etna volcano, in southern Italy, once again erupted ash and lava.

Volcanic activity continues on Mount Etna, which is located about 3,300 meters high on the island of Sicily. The volcano’s active southeastern crater, which first activated this month on Nov. 12, erupted ash and lava again last weekend.

It was recorded that lava flows were observed from the snowy slopes of Mount Etna.

In the statement from the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), it is stated that the volcanic activity on Etna was limited to the southeastern crater.

It was also reported in the press that INGV issued an advisory for planes passing through the region and that Fontanarossa airport in Catania was not damaged by this latest volcanic activity.

Etna is the highest active volcano in continental Europe. (AA)
