Scholz statement on Gaza: Could be a start

German Chancellor Scholz said in his post on social media platform X: “It is good news that the first group of hostages has finally been released. “We are struggling to understand what they and their families have been through in recent weeks.” he said.

Noting that this result was due to the contribution of diplomacy, Scholz said: “We want to thank everyone who made an effort. “Today may be just the beginning.” he made the assessment of it.

The chancellor also demanded that Hamas unconditionally release all hostages.

Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock stated in her X post that she was very relieved that among the hostages released in Gaza there were 4 German citizens.

“It is now of great importance that everyone honors the agreements reached and that more hostages are released in the coming days,” Baerbock said. “It is also vital that the Red Cross be allowed access to the hostages so they can receive medical treatment.” he said.

Baerbock stated that they saw the bad situation of the people in Gaza and said: “The pause in delivering medicine and food to Gaza now should last as long as possible. “Our relief materials are waiting in front of the Rafah border gate.” he recorded his statements. (AA)
