In South Korea, Jung Yoo-jung, 23, shocked the country with the murder he committed in May.

Jung Yoo-jung, who lives with his grandfather and is unemployed, identified the person he would kill through online applications. According to police, Jung, who was obsessed with the novel and true crime documentary, communicated with at least 50 people through chat apps.

Meanwhile, Jung Yoo-jung targeted an English teacher and went to this person’s house posing as a student.

Jung stabbed the teacher more than 100 times in his home. Jung cut the body into pieces, put these pieces in his bag and took a taxi to a river. Jung, who dumped the body in the Nakdong River, was reported to the police after the taxi driver became suspicious.

After his arrest, police discovered months of searching for the murder in the browsing history of Jung’s computer.

At today’s court hearing, Jung was sentenced to life in prison.

Confessing to his crime, Jung requested a lighter sentence, saying that he “had hallucinations and some mental disorders.”
