They raised the alarm: The epidemic caused the state of emergency to be declared

The statement from the Zimbabwe Ministry of Health indicated that 50 people lost their lives and 7,398 suspected cases of cholera were detected in the epidemic that began on February 12.

Harare Mayor Ian Makone announced that a state of emergency (OHAL) has been declared due to rising cholera cases in the capital.

Makone said the epidemic is similar to the cholera epidemic that hit Zimbabwe in 2008, in which more than 4,000 people died.

THE CHOLERA OUTBREAK IN ZIMBABWE

In the statement issued by the Ministry of Health of Zimbabwe, it was indicated that as of November 14, 7,398 suspected cases of cholera had been detected in the epidemic that broke out on February 12.

The statement shared that at least 50 people died in this epidemic and more than 100 people were treated in hospitals.

In the great epidemic, in which more than 100,000 cases of cholera were recorded in the country in 2008, at least 4,000 people died. (AA)
