Blinken’s reaction to Biden’s blunder in China became a sensation

Blinken’s reaction to Biden’s blunder in China became a sensation

While US President Joe Biden’s statement that he “still sees Chinese President Xi Jinping as a dictator” after their face-to-face meeting sparked controversy, the reaction of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who attempted to reduce tension in relationships, he didn’t. not go unnoticed.

At a time of rising tensions along the US-China line, Chinese leader Xi made a critical visit to the US the other day and met with Biden. The two countries reportedly agreed to restore military dialogue, which was interrupted following the visit of then-US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan in 2022.

On the other hand, the positive statements from both parties after the meeting were interrupted by Biden’s statement, which was described as a “blunder.”

Biden responded to reporters’ questions after his meeting with Xi at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit held yesterday in San Francisco. Stating that he “still sees Xi as a dictator,” Biden said: “Look, he is a dictator in the sense that he is the man who runs a communist country, based on a completely different administration than ours.”

The two leaders discussed important issues during the meeting.

Biden said they were still making progress in their talks with Xi.

‘TOLERANCE FOR SUPPLY IS DECREASING’

The look on Secretary of State Blinken’s face when the US president used the phrase “dictator” was caught on camera. While Blinken first nervously waited for the answer and then reacted to the word “dictator” with a grimace, the US press interpreted the US minister’s reaction as “an indication that the administration’s tolerance for Biden’s unnecessary mistakes has decreased.”

Blinken later said in his statement about the talks that US-China relations are “the most important relationship between two countries in the world, so we have to act responsibly.”

THE REACTION WAS ALSO FROM CHINA

China also reacted to US President Biden’s “dictator” declaration.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said at the daily press conference in Beijing: “What needs to be noted here is that there will always be malicious people who will try to undermine China-U.S. relations, but we will not do so.” will get.”

Biden claimed that the reason for Xi’s reaction to the downing of the Chinese “spy balloon” that entered US airspace in February was because “he didn’t know the balloon was there.” Biden: “I’m serious. “It is a great shame for dictators not to understand what is happening,” he said.

China, for its part, called Biden’s “dictator” overture toward Xi “absurd and irresponsible.” (AGENCIES)
