Hezbollah withdraws hundreds of fighters from Syria

Lebanese Hezbollah, which sides with Bashar Assad’s regime in Syria, withdrew approximately 1,500 of its elements.

According to information obtained from local sources, Hezbollah has recalled approximately 1,500 of its Syrian army elements in various regions of the country to Lebanon in the last two weeks. Hezbollah elements have withdrawn from the 46th Brigade in western rural Aleppo in the past two weeks, from Saraqib, Karrateyin in eastern Idlib, and from the Maarratunnuman and Khan Sheikhun, Keferruma, Kefrenbil and Hizerin regions in southern Idlib.

These elements moved first to the Qusayr district, in the southwest of the Syrian province of Homs, and then to Lebanon. The Fatimiyoun and Copper Brigades of Afghanistan, one of the terrorist groups backed by Iran, were deployed in the vacant places.

It is noteworthy that Hezbollah made the decision to withdraw after Israel’s intense attacks on the Gaza Strip. (AA)
