US condemns Palestinian congressman who criticizes Israel

The US House of Representatives adopted the resolution introduced by Rashida Tlaib, of Palestinian origin, one of the first Muslim women, to “condemn her criticism of Israel.”

The draft resolution introduced by Republican House member Rich McCormick to condemn Tlaib’s anti-Israel rhetoric was voted on in the House General Assembly. The bill was approved with 234 “yes” votes against 188 “no” votes and 4 “abstentions.”

In the bill in question, Tlaib, the only member of the House of Representatives of Palestinian origin, is accused of “spreading false narratives and calling for the destruction of the State of Israel since October 7.”

‘THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE CANNOT SPEND THEMSELVES’

In her speech to the House General Assembly before the vote, Tlaib said: “I can’t believe we have to say this. The Palestinian people are not expendable. “We are human beings like everyone else,” he said.

Showing the photo in her hand to members of the House of Representatives, Tlaib said: “My grandmother wants to live her life in freedom and dignity, like all other Palestinians.” Tlaib stated that his criticism was always directed at the Israeli government and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and said:

“Speaking out in this parliament to save people’s lives, regardless of their faith or ethnicity, should not be controversial. For me it makes no difference whether Palestinian or Israeli children cry. What I don’t understand is why the crying of Palestinian children seems different to you? “We cannot lose our common humanity.” (AA)
