Anti-Netanyahu demonstration in Israel: resignation

Anti-Netanyahu demonstration in Israel: resignation

A group of hundreds of people gathered in front of the Israeli Parliament in West Jerusalem for the commemoration ceremony on October 7. During the ceremony, candles arranged in the shape of “7.10” corresponding to October 7, the date of the attack carried out by Hamas, and the “Star of David”, a symbol of Judaism, were lit.

It was noteworthy that those who attended the commemoration ceremony carried anti-government banners, as well as banners reading “Bring them home” for Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip. Those who attended the commemoration ceremony shouted at Netanyahu: “Go home” with a banner they carried. They carried banners reading “Let’s give 64 and take back the captives in Gaza,” referring to the 64 deputies of the ruling coalition.

Speaking at the memorial ceremony, Maoz Inon, who lost his parents in the October 7 attacks, harshly criticized Netanyahu. Inon said: “It’s been a month. Netanyahu did not call any family to express his condolences nor did he attend a funeral. Families were devastated. Every family I spoke to knows who to blame: the Prime Minister of Israel. “I came here to tell Netanyahu to ‘go away,'” he said.

Stating that they will set up a condolence tent in front of the Israeli Parliament and will not leave until Netanyahu’s government resigns, Inon said: “I invite Israelis to come and join us on the path to building a new hope and equality.”

In his speech, Yaakov Godo, who lost his son in the city of Kissufim, near the Gaza Strip, blamed the Israeli government and Prime Minister Netanyahu for what happened on October 7.

No slogans were shouted at the ceremony and calm prevailed, but when Netanyahu’s name was mentioned during the speeches, the crowd reacted with whistles. (AA)
