Regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Ryder said: “We do not support a ceasefire that would give Hamas time to regroup and endanger Israeli citizens and others.” he said.
“I hear that US President Joe Biden supports a humanitarian pause to allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza and captives and other citizens to leave.” Ryder stated that Defense Minister Lloyd Austin also discussed the delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in Gaza in his meetings with his counterparts.

White House national security advisor Jake Sullivan also commented on a humanitarian pause in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: “Any pause in the conflict would be in the interests of Hamas.
