‘Israel aid’ bill tension: Biden will veto

The written statement from the White House Office of Management and Budget criticized the Republican bill that proposes that the aid package to Israel be treated separately.

“This bill is bad for Israel, the Middle East region, and our own national security,” the statement said. It adds partisanship to support for Israel, turning our ally into a pawn in our politics. “We need to stay together right now.”

The statement argued that the Republican-drafted bill would deepen divisions in politics and seriously erode historic bipartisan support for Israel’s security, and warned that if the bill were accepted, it would be vetoed by the president. Joe Biden.

The statement also noted that the Republican bill would eliminate the $9 billion humanitarian aid line item for Ukraine, Israel and Palestinian civilians in Biden’s $106 billion request, and that humanitarian aid in Gaza and Ukraine is critical to preventing “the possibility of conflict and the spread of extremism.” This was highlighted.
