War intensifies: Israel entered Hamas underground tunnels

While the level of violence in the Israeli-Palestinian war increases, direct conflicts between the Israeli army and Hamas are also increasing.

As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not heed calls to stop fighting to ease the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military clashed with militants in Gaza’s extensive network of tunnels.

The operation against the tunnels is of great importance for Israel, which expanded its ground operation in Gaza to destroy Hamas, which carried out simultaneous raids into Israel three weeks ago. Most of the 239 people taken hostage by Hamas during the October 7 attack are believed to have been held in the tunnels.

HAMAS: WE HIT ISRAELI TANKS

Hamas’s military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, said militants “clashed with Israeli forces occupying Gaza with machine guns and attacked four vehicles with Yasin 105 rockets” today. Locally produced Yasin 105 rockets have anti-tank characteristics.

The Al-Qassam Brigades claimed that the militants also attacked two Israeli tanks and bulldozers in northwest Gaza with missiles.

While health officials in Gaza announced that 8,306 people, including 3,457 children, had been killed in Israel’s attacks since October 7, United Nations officials stated that 1.4 million of the 2.3 million civilian population from Gaza were left homeless.
