Looters looted the market
A group of young people looted a supermarket in the US state of California. In the video released by Sacramento police, a group broke the windows of a supermarket in Rio Linda, entered the store and stole many products, especially cigarettes.
By sharing the images from the security cameras, the police asked witnesses for help to catch those responsible for the damage and looting.
“This investigation is very active and detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Sheriff’s Office,” police said. Police said a $10,000 reward will be offered for tips leading to an arrest.
While the number of people living on the streets in the US increases every day, so does retail theft and looting.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development says California is home to half of all homeless people in the country.
In August, a group of 50 looters ransacked a counter selling luxury accessories at a Nordstrom store in Los Angeles. Police stated that the group stole property worth approximately $60,000 to $100,000.
