Israeli reservists react to Netanyahu’s son in the United States

Israeli soldiers who volunteered to join the war against Hamas condemned the son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for staying in the United States and “abandoning” his country.

The Times, one of the most read newspapers in England, spoke to Israeli reserve soldiers… The headline read: “Israeli reserve soldiers ask why Benjamin Netanyahu’s son is in Miami.”

Hundreds of Israelis returned home after the army recruited more than 300,000 reservists to fight in the largest mobilization in the country’s history.

Netanyahu’s eldest son, Yair, moved to Florida earlier this year and still lives there. Yair Netanyahu, who is currently 32 years old, is eligible for reserve service, which expires at age 40.

Netanyahu last attended the UN Security Council in New York with his mother in September.

“While I was at the front, Yair was enjoying his life in Miami Beach,” said a soldier who wished to remain anonymous for security reasons.

The soldier, who volunteered to serve on Israel’s northern front, which is increasingly coming under attack by Iran-backed Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, believes the family’s absence has fueled mistrust and anger. in the ranks.

The soldier, who did not reveal his name, said: “We are the ones who abandoned our jobs, our families, our children to protect our families and our country, not those responsible for this situation. Our brothers, our parents, our children, they all go to the front, but Yair is not here yet. “This situation does not help to generate confidence in the country’s administration,” he said.

Although Yair was never a combat soldier, he completed his mandatory military service and worked in the spokesperson unit of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

YOUR PUBLICATIONS ARE REACTIONS

Yair moved to the United States following controversy over his social media activities.

The prime minister’s son sparked a public outcry after calling hundreds of thousands of Israelis demonstrating against the government’s judicial reforms “terrorists” and accusing the United States of funding the uprisings.

Yair has recently dedicated his personal Instagram page to raising awareness about NGOs working to support war victims and the 120,000 or more displaced Israelis who have been forced to move from the north and south since the war began. .

SHE POSED FOR THE LAST TIME IN NEW YORK

Another volunteer, who wished to remain anonymous and was preparing to be deployed to Israel’s southern front against Hamas, said: “I returned from the United States, where I had a job, a life and a family. “This is the most unifying moment in our recent history as Israelis, and every one of us, including the prime minister’s son, should be here right now,” he said.

In his last post in September, Netanyahu posed in New York, United States. After that post, Netanyahu began sharing content primarily related to the war between Hamas and Israel.
