Hamas frees two more hostages
“We have released the two captives in response to mediation by Qatar and Egypt,” said Abu Ubaidah, spokesman for the Qassam Brigades.
Ubeyde said: “We decided to release them due to health problems and humanitarian reasons. “Despite this, the enemy refused to capture them on Friday,” he said.
The Israeli press wrote that many hostages would be released this afternoon.
THERE ARE 200 HOSTAGES
Hamas took at least 200 people hostage in a dawn raid from the Gaza Strip on communities and military bases in southern Israel on October 7. It is stated that among the hostages there are 30 children and 20 people over 60 years of age.
Israel stated that “unless there is accurate information about the whereabouts of the hostages, it will carry out attacks even at the cost of harming them.”
2 Americans WERE RELEASED
Hamas freed Judith Tai Raanan, 59, and her daughter Natalie, 17, after days of attempts on October 20.
Ubeida claimed that they informed Qatar on October 21 that they wanted to release two Israeli civilians on humanitarian grounds, but Tel Aviv rejected this. Israel denied the claim. (AGENCIES)
