Israel killed 23 journalists
The number of journalists who have lost their lives in attacks carried out by the Israeli army in the blockaded Gaza Strip since October 7 has reportedly risen to 23.
In the statement from the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), it was stated that the Palestinian-Israeli conflict seriously affected journalists.
The statement noted that journalists trying to fulfill their duties covering the conflicts in Gaza face serious dangers and stated that 23 journalists have lost their lives since October 7.
The statement shared that 19 of the journalists who lost their lives were Palestinians, 3 Israelis and 1 Lebanese journalist, and it was stated that 8 journalists had been injured since the day the attacks began and 3 of them had not. been heard.
CPJ Middle East and North Africa Coordinator Sherif Mansour also stated that “journalists are civilians who do important work in times of crisis and should not be targeted by parties to the conflict.”
Mansour emphasized that journalists around the world made great sacrifices to cover the “heartbreaking” conflict and that the safety of journalists must be guaranteed.
