Incredible but true: a strong storm lifted the forest floor into the air
Footage recorded by a person walking their dog on Saturday shows Storm Babet, which has captured Scotland, continuing its impact. Consequently, the storm’s strong winds, which caused widespread destruction, destroyed an area of woodland in Stirlingshire.
David Nugent-Malone, who was walking his dog Jake on a trail in Mugdock, shared that he had never seen anything like it before.
The man claimed that the forest land around him was removed due to strong winds and shared those moments on his social media account.
Homes in Brechin, Scotland, were evacuated after the banks of the River South Esk rose 5 meters higher than normal due to the impact of Storm Babet. Additionally, the coastguard was called to help after a bridge collapsed while a car was on it in Fowlis.
The storm has claimed the lives of two people since Thursday, two of them in Angus, Scotland. A 57-year-old woman died after being swept into the river, and a 56-year-old man also died when his minibus was hit by a tree.
And on Friday, a man in his 60s died after being swept away by rapid flooding in Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire; Police found his body two hours after he disappeared underwater.
