WHO: The situation in Gaza is getting out of control

World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus shared about the health situation in Gaza on the X social media platform.

“The situation in Gaza is out of control and we are suffering losses every second we wait to deliver medical aid,” Ghebreyesus said, adding that medical supplies sent by the WHO to the Gaza region have been waiting at the border for 4 days. . Ghebreyesus noted that violence between the parties must stop and noted that urgent access is needed to begin delivering life-saving medical supplies to Gaza.

GENERAL STRIKE IN THE West Bank and East Jerusalem

Meanwhile, a one-day general strike was held in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem over Israel’s attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip, in which more than 500 Palestinians were killed.

In the news of the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, “Following the atrocious massacre in which hundreds of people lost their lives due to the Israeli bombing of the Al-Ahly Baptist Hospital in Gaza, and the continued Israeli attacks, a general strike was carried out of a day in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. It was noted that the strike, which was carried out at the request of Palestinian resistance forces, included all institutions and organizations, including universities, banks and workplaces, in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The strike, which also involved public transport, was claimed to have affected all walks of life.

The news also said that flags at official institutions were lowered to half-mast due to the three-day mourning declared by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas after yesterday’s hospital attack. (AA)
