Hakan Fidan: There may be major wars

11 days have passed since the conflict between Israel and Hamas. Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan traveled to Lebanon at the invitation of Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Abdallah Buhabib. The two ministers held a joint press conference. Fidan made the following statements at the meeting:

– We are doing everything possible to prevent the war from developing in a way that leads to the destabilization of the countries in the region, especially Lebanon, Egypt and Jordan.

– Although major wars can emerge from this war, a historic peace can also emerge. Our President believes that a historic peace is possible.

– For many years we have seen that the hegemonic powers have made us forget the true nature of the problem with the power of the media, it is time to put an end to this.

– You are occupying someone’s land. You confiscate his house, throw him out, bring someone and put him there, call him a “settler.” This is called theft.

– Türkiye is a strong and experienced state with a historical past. Please heed our warnings.
