Intense diplomatic traffic of Minister Fidan after the Israel-Hamas crisis
According to information obtained from diplomatic sources, Foreign Minister Fidan met with many of his counterparts regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Minister Fidan, on October 7, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdurrahman Al Thani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Farhan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Samih Shukri, the Minister of Palestinian Foreign Affairs, Riyad al-Maliki, Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Emir Abdullahian, and US Secretary of State Antony spoke with Blinken by phone.
On October 8, Fidan had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, Ayman al-Safedi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, José Manuel Albares, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and again with US Secretary of State Blinken.
Minister Fidan spoke by telephone with British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly on October 9, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on October 10, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on October 11 October, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Al Nahyan, on October 13.
In addition, Fidan, who had a telephone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Malaysian Foreign Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir and Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lökke Rasmussen, and Blinken, discussed the developments in Israel-Palestine with their counterparts.
In addition to the telephone conversations, Minister Fidan held a face-to-face meeting with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and Egyptian Foreign Minister Samih Shukri on 14 October.
ISRAEL-HAMAS CONFLICT
Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack against Israel on the morning of October 7, dubbed the “Aqsa Flood.”
As thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel, Palestinian armed groups attacked and seized the Beit Hanun-Erez border gate on the Gaza-Israel border.
Armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel from here and the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.
It was reported that 1,300 Israelis were killed and 3,436 Israelis were injured in the attacks carried out from Gaza.
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that 2,670 people were killed and 9,600 injured in Gaza in Israel’s attacks.
It was claimed that 56 Palestinians were killed and 619 people were injured in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank.
In Israel’s attacks, nine journalists in Gaza and 1 journalist in Lebanon lost their lives. (AA)
