13 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED DURING THE PRO-PALESTINE DEMONSTRATION IN STRASBOURG
Yesterday, approximately 300 people carrying Palestinian flags gathered in the center of Strasbourg to show their support for the Palestinians.
The police intervened to disperse participants in the demonstration in Strasbourg, previously banned by the governor’s office, and arrested 13 protesters.
DEMONSTRATIONS OF SUPPORT FOR ISRAEL WERE ALLOWED
While local authorities allowed demonstrations in support of Israel in different cities, this week they banned demonstrations in support of Palestine in Lyon, Marseille and Paris, saying they “risked disturbing public order.”
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin then ordered governors to ban all protests in support of Palestine on the grounds that they could “disturb public order.”
ISRAEL-PALESTINE CONFLICT
Hamas’s armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack against Israel on the morning of October 7, dubbed the “Aqsa Flood.”
As thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel, Palestinian armed groups attacked and seized the Beit Hanun-Erez border gate on the Gaza-Israel border.
Armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel from here and the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.
It was reported that 1,300 Israelis were killed and 3,436 Israelis were injured in the attacks carried out from Gaza.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that 1,900 people, including 614 children and 370 women, lost their lives and 7,696 people were injured in Gaza during Israeli attacks.
It was also claimed that 52 Palestinians were killed and approximately 619 people were injured in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers in the West Bank.
In the Israeli attacks, 10 journalists, 9 in Gaza and 1 in Lebanon, lost their lives. (AA)
