Israel detains BBC journalists
According to BBC news, as Muhannad Tutunji, Haitham Abudiab and the BBC Arab team were heading to a hotel in Tel Aviv, their vehicle, which had a sign indicating that they were journalists, was blocked by Israeli police.
The journalists who were taken out of the vehicle and searched were pushed against the wall.
Tutunji and Abudiab said they introduced themselves as BBC reporters during the incident and also showed their press cards to the police. Tutunji claimed that while he was trying to record the incident, his phone was thrown to the ground and he was hit in the neck.
The BBC has contacted the Israeli police for comment on the incident.
YOU CANNOT REACH THE MEE REPORTERS
Middle East Eye (MEE), based in the United Kingdom, also stated that they could not contact their two reporters in Gaza. Contact with journalists Maha Hussaini and Mohammed al-Hajjar was lost after Israel granted 24 hours to those in Gaza. (AGENCIES)
