Turkish candidate appears before US President Biden
US President Joe Biden, who has signaled that he will run again ahead of the US presidential election in November next year, faces a formidable opponent…
Journalist Cenk Uygur, who criticized Biden, considered a Democratic presidential candidate as long as his health problems allow, announced that he will oppose Biden in the 2024 elections on behalf of the Democrats.
THEY MOVED TO THE USA IN 1978
The statements of Uygur, born in Istanbul and known by the Young Turks media organization and who frequently comes to the fore with his programs, became a hot topic. American media reported that Uyghur, who settled in the United States in 1978, harshly criticized Biden and said he would be a candidate.
Uygur said: “It shouldn’t have been me, someone else should have been a candidate, but unfortunately no one else was a candidate. There are only four months left until the candidate is announced. We must change this trend. “At best, Biden’s chances of winning the election are 10 percent. I will compete to win,” he said.
Known for his liberal views, the Uighur frequently appears on the American agenda.
Following Uygur’s statements, the White House did not comment on the issue.
There are several paths to follow for Uygur’s candidacy to be approved. Uygur, born in Istanbul, said he believes the Constitution’s “natural-born citizen” article will give him the chance to become president, but he may have to take his case to the U.S. Supreme Court to do so. .
“IF BIDEN LOSES THIS ELECTION…”
Uygur said: “We must remove Biden from the electoral race. Thank you for winning the election in 2020. But if he wins the election this time, it will not just be his problem, but all of our problems. “I believe that democracy is at risk and that is why, if I have to participate in the elections, I will participate,” he said.
Stating that he will exercise his constitutional rights, Uygur said: “I work with politician Bernie Sanders’ lawyer and he also worked with that lawyer in two races. “I have strong allies,” he said.
