Scotland’s First Lady reveals: My family is afraid in Gaza
As thousands died in the Hamas attack on Israel on Saturday and in the conflict and military interventions that followed, a notable statement came from Scotland last night.
El-Nakla’s parents are Elizabeth and Majid El-Nakla.
Nadir El-Nakla, wife of Scottish First Minister Hamza Yusuf, spoke to the BBC. El-Nakla said that her parents, Elizabeth and Majid El-Nakla, were in Gaza when the events began and were stranded in Gaza. El-Nakla stated that she spoke with her family and that her families continued to live in fear after the Israeli airstrikes: “I am in a nightmare. “I always think they will die there,” she said.
El-Naklas said he went to Gaza to see his relatives last week: “My family went to Gaza last week to see my brother, who is a doctor, and his elderly relatives. “They found themselves stranded there after the Hamas attack,” he said.
