The name behind Hamas’ attack on Israel: Known as the Guest

The name behind the attack called “Aqsa Flood” launched by the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas’ military wing against Israel on Saturday became a hot topic…

The British Financial Times published a detailed story about Mohammed Deif, the head of Hamas’s military wing, who provoked the events in which thousands of people lost their lives. While the newspaper used the headline “Guest: The architect behind the deadly attack on Israel,” Deif’s voice was stated to be soft-toned in the video released after Saturday’s attack.

“In light of the crimes that continue to be committed against our people, in light of the frenzy of the occupation and the denial of international laws and resolutions, and in light of the support of the United States and the West, we decide to put an end to all this . so that the enemy understands that he can no longer rebel without being held accountable,” Deif said in that video.

THE MEANING OF THE NICKNAME GUEST

Recalling that Deif’s nickname was “Guest”, the newspaper claimed that this was due to the fact that Deif, a Palestinian, stayed at a different Palestinian’s house each night to avoid being caught by Israeli intelligence. It was also claimed that Saturday’s attack was Deif’s deadliest move.

Deif, who was nearly killed in an Israeli airstrike almost 20 years ago and was reported to have lost an arm and a leg, was said to be highly respected by Hamas and the Palestinians.

Speaking to the Financial Times, Palestinian professor Mkhaimar Abusada said: “Before this attack, Deif was a holy person and was respected by both Hamas and the Palestinians. “This latest operation against Israel will elevate it to the status of a god,” he said.

HOSTAGE FACTOR

The biggest gain Hamas made in the attack was the kidnapped Israelis… While it was recorded that Hamas took many Israelis across the border into Gaza, it was claimed that Hamas would be relieved this way.

Israel released 1,000 Palestinian prisoners to Hamas in exchange for a soldier named Gilad Shalit, who remained captive for 5 years. “Hamas knows that all it needs is patience when dealing with Israeli captives,” said a diplomat involved in the Shalit negotiations. Over time, Israeli public opinion will put pressure on the government. “Hamas has to wait,” he said.

Experts who made statements about Deif said that he lived in the shadows in Palestine and had a silent character. It was also stated that Deif did not hesitate to use violence to achieve success. Deif was reported to be uninterested in political divisions within Palestine.

On the other hand, it was also claimed that Deif was also the architect of the construction of the tunnels under Gaza and directed the works that lasted for decades. Only one old photograph of Deif exists, whose real name is a mystery.

THE OBJECTIVE HAS BEEN CLEAR

Separately, Israeli officials also commented on Deif’s purpose in Saturday’s attack.

Officials said: “Deif focused on high-impact targets. Colonists or soldiers in occupied territory. “Buses in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv,” he said.

An Israeli official made a statement about Saturday’s attack, saying: “There will be no more peace talks, there will be retaliation.” The Financial Times commented on these statements as “This is exactly what Deif wants.”
