The truth came out about Menéndez’s wife: She caused his death
A news website called northjersey.com revealed records of the accident caused by Nadine Arslanian Menendez, who faces bribery charges along with her husband.
Consequently, the Bogotá police went to the scene upon receiving notification of the accident on December 12, 2018. It was determined that the person named Richard Koop, who was hit by Menéndez with his car, was seriously injured. Koop, who was taken to the hospital, died.
Police records showed that Koop walked without looking ahead and did not cross traffic lights or pedestrian crossings.
Records showed Menendez was not tested for alcohol or substance use and was allowed to leave the scene shortly afterward.
The Bergen State Prosecutor’s Office and the Bogotá Police ruled that Menéndez was to blame for the accident.
In the accusation about the accident, Menéndez’s messages with Egyptian businessman Wael Hana, prominent in the current bribery case, also drew attention.
In the indictment, it was noted that Hana, who wrote that Menendez did not have a car due to the accident, provided Menendez with a luxury car after some time.
