Herminie is being tried along with seven others, six of whom are from Seychelles and one Tanzanian national, for “practicing witchcraft” and “committing unnatural superstitious acts.”

Herminie, who was detained at the party headquarters on September 29 as part of the investigation, was released on bail in court yesterday.

Speaking to the press, Herminie leveled accusations against the government, stating that the decision was “political.”

At the hearing to be held on November 3, the defendants will be fined if they are found guilty.

It was determined that Herminie’s name was registered in the telephone directory of a Tanzanian national, who was detained at the Seychelles international airport in September with several stones and powders, small bottles containing a brown liquid and a series of documents containing symbols of “satanism.” (AA)
