The wedding that Italy talks about: the restaurant on the brink of bankruptcy

On the agenda are Moreno Priorietti and Andrae Svenja, a couple who eloped without paying the bill after a luxurious wedding party in Italy.

Enzo Fabrizi, owner of the seafood restaurant Ristorante La Rotonda, claimed that after the wedding dinner attended by 80 guests, the newlyweds did not pay the bill and fled the country.

According to the Daily Mail report, Fabrizi stated that the business could close if the bill is not paid.

The restaurant owner, who did not believe there was any dispute over the bill, waited until the end of the day after the wedding but was unable to contact the couple.

Upon contacting local police, Fabrizi learned that the couple had flown to Germany via Rome.

Fabrizi claimed that they agreed with the couple on a total bill of 8,800 euros (253 thousand TL), and that this rate included extras such as food, drinks and decoration, and that the couple flew to Germany one day after the wedding and never heard back. from them.

The restaurant’s owner, Fabrizi, stated that he would not let the couple go until they collected their debt. Local police are trying to locate the couple and Priorietti is said to be wanted for fraud.

The restaurant’s lawyer said the case would be dropped if the couple paid their debts or turned themselves in to authorities.

Fabrizi said they corresponded with the couple for a while, but then they deleted the couple’s social media profiles and became unreachable.

Fabrizi claimed that he never expected the groom, whom he met through a friend, to behave this way, and even thought that the bride’s father worked in a bank in Germany and belonged to a wealthy family.
