Terrifying drought in Australia

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology reported that last month was the driest September on record, with an average of 4.83 millimeters of rain across the country.

According to bureau data, last month was also the third warmest September.

The data showed that the total amount of precipitation in September was 70.8 percent lower than the 1961 to 1990 average.

MADE HISTORY

This made September the driest month on record. Yesterday there were 85 fires in the Australian state of New South Wales.

Fires are believed to be increasing due to climate change and rising temperatures.

High temperatures are expected this week in the country states of New South Wales, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology had announced that the country would be under the influence of the El Niño and Indian Ocean Dipole weather phenomena during the summer months of December, January and February. (AA)
