Kosovo police officer Afrim Bunjaku lost his life as a result of an armed attack in the Izveçan region of northern Kosovo. In his statement on the attack, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said: “These armed and organized professional forces commit murder and violence in the north in unmarked armored vehicles. “Let me reiterate that these terrorist attacks are not carried out by ordinary Kosovo Serb citizens, but by troops supported by the Serbian state,” he said.
Kosovo police announced that two of the attackers were captured and detained and that three attackers were neutralized.
In the KFOR statement, the multinational day of peace established under the leadership of NATO, “KFOR continues to closely monitor the situation. The KFOR Commander is in close and constant contact with all international stakeholders, including the EU, the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces and the institutions in Kosovo. He is working hard to find a solution. “The NATO-led KFOR mission strongly condemns the attack on the Kosovo police and expresses its deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives.” (DHA)
