Famous beautician turned out to be a ‘Russian agent’
The accusation of being an “agent on behalf of Russia” against Bulgarian citizen Vanya Gaberova, who has a high reputation as a beautician in England, became a hot topic in the country.
As part of a wide-ranging security investigation in England, three Bulgarian citizens were detained on suspicion of espionage for Russia. It was alleged that the suspects, who had lived for years in England and held various jobs, were trying to obtain state secrets in England on behalf of Russia.
Many people were surprised when it was revealed that one of the two people who were later detained as part of the investigation in the country was Vanya Gaberova, who for years has gained fame and awards as a beautician in England.
It was revealed that Gaberova, 29, who owns a beauty company called Pretty Woman, has won numerous awards in England, Bulgaria and Russia, especially for the training she provided on eyelash care.
The accusation of three Bulgarian citizens of being spies in England was already on the agenda.
In addition to Gaberova, Orlin Russev, Bizer Cambazov, Katrin Ivanova and Ivan Stoyanov are among those detained accused of “attempting to obtain secret information that will benefit enemy states” between 2020 and 2023. The suspects will appear in court next week .
Gaberova, who frequently shares beauty information on her social media accounts, has added “travelling, cooking, shopping and reading” to her hobbies. Gaberova, known as a “talented beautician” in the Acton region where she lives, is accused of transferring to Russia sensitive information she obtained through the secret intelligence network of which she is a part.
