US Army’s multi-billion dollar fighter jet is missing
An army fighter jet that crashed into the US sea could not be found despite all efforts, creating a crisis.
Major Melanie Salinas, spokesperson for the US Army, reported that an F-35 aircraft belonging to the Marines suffered a breakdown while carrying out a training flight in the North Charleston region, South Carolina. Stating that the pilot survived by jumping with a parachute, Salinas stated that search efforts have been launched in the region of the missing F-35 aircraft.
While search efforts by land and air continued, authorities asked the local population for help in finding the plane.
‘WHY IS THERE NO TRACKING DEVICE?’
The F-35B Lightning II fighter jet, which costs more than $100 million, is estimated to have crashed near lakes Moultrie and Marion.
In the statement from Charleston Air Force Base, “emergency response teams are still attempting to locate the F-35. “If you have any information that can help rescuers, please call the JB Charleston Base Defense Operations Center.”
On the other hand, this statement made to the public provoked reactions. US House of Representatives member Nancy Mace, posting on her social media account, said: “How can you lose an F-35? Why is there no tracking device and what do we want from the public? “To find the plane and deliver it?” he said. (AGENCIES)
