“Military cooperation between North Korea and Russia is illegal and unfair”

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol made assessments on cooperation between North Korea and Russia and the discussions at the 78th United Nations (UN) General Assembly to be held in New York, United States.

Stating that military cooperation between North Korea and Russia is “illegal and unjust” because it violates United Nations (UN) Security Council resolutions and other international sanctions, Yoon said: “The international community will unite more closely against such a measure”. saying.

Yoon stated that if the Pyongyang administration attempts to use nuclear weapons, the United States and South Korea “will provide a swift, overwhelming and decisive response that will bring about the end of the regime.”

Stating that Washington and Seoul will increase their deterrence and response capabilities against North Korea’s nuclear or missile threat, Yoon noted that “extended deterrence” between the two countries will become a common system.

“THE TRIPLE COOPERATION WILL NOT HURT RELATIONS WITH CHINA”

Yoon also stated that security cooperation between South Korea, the United States and Japan will not harm relations with China and is “not intended to marginalize any country or form a special coalition.”

Referring to his meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Jiang, Yoon said that “China also attaches importance to its relations with South Korea.”

Yoon noted that South Korea, the United States and Japan have a common understanding of the importance of China playing a constructive role in addressing issues on the Korean Peninsula and the region, as well as global challenges.

On the other hand, Yoon stated that he will address the fields of development, climate and digital transformation in his speech at the UN, and will also mention that South Korea will play a responsible role in security issues that require international solidarity. such as the war in Ukraine and North Korea’s nuclear program.

Yoon said he will hold bilateral meetings with leaders from approximately 30 countries during his visit to New York. (AA)
