Exercise in the Eastern Mediterranean from 4 countries

The Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus (GCASC) is organizing a joint military exercise with France, Italy and Greece in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The exercise began on September 11 and will continue until September 15.

The statement by the Ministry of Defense of the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus stated that the exercise included naval and air forces.

The statement noted that the purpose of the exercise was to demonstrate the collective intention and commitment of the four countries to implement the law of the sea and customary international law.

A large number of military vehicles and personnel take part in the exercise, including French “Rafale” fighter aircraft and “Airbus A400M Atlas” transport aircraft.

The head of the Greek Cypriot administration, Nikos Hristodulidis, stated in his statement that the exercise was not a “show of force” and was not carried out against any country.

Hristodulidis noted that his government attaches importance to improving military facilities to “make the most” of the island’s geographical location. (AA)
