Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan lost hope in Russia
Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan made important statements in his interview with Politico. Claiming that Russia’s capabilities have changed as a result of the Russia-Ukraine war, Pashinyan argued that the Moscow administration fears alienating Azerbaijan and its close ally Turkey.
Pashinyan said: “In this case, our strategy should be to try to reduce our dependence on others as much as possible. We want to have an independent country, a sovereign country, but we must find ways to avoid falling into the center of conflicts between West and East, North and South. There is no such thing as Armenia becoming a “representative.” “This can not be allowed”. he said.
“WE CANNOT TRUST RUSSIA”
Noting that it is unsustainable to appeal to the “great protector” – in the case of Armenia, Russia – every time conflicts break out, Pashinyan said: “We can no longer rely on Russia to protect us.” he said.
On the other hand, Pashinian stressed that he could not make the assessment that “if Russian peacekeepers were not in Karabakh, the situation today would be better.”
Prime Minister of Armenia: “If we want to have a permanent and eternal state, we must first take very serious measures and make very serious efforts to improve our relations with our neighbors.” He also used the expression. (AA)
