Train accident in Barcelona: many dead and injured
In the accident that occurred last night at 8:18 p.m. local time, a group of young people who were trying to cross the tracks at a prohibited point lost their lives.
4 people were killed and 7 injured when a commuter train crashed into a group crossing the tracks near the city of Barcelona in eastern Spain.
The accident occurred in the Valles Oriental region at 8:18 p.m. local time (9:18 p.m. GMT). Four people lost their lives when a group of 7 people were run over by a train at a point where pedestrians were prohibited from crossing the tracks.
Local government officials announced that those who died in the accident were a group of young people who were trying to cross the train tracks to go to a concert in the region.
It was reported that due to the accident the train was stopped at the scene, passengers were transported on buses and the R3 suburban train line was temporarily closed.
