England commemorates its ‘Queen’ on the first anniversary of her death
In the first year of the queen’s death, King Carlos III, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and government officials made a statement.
“On the Queen’s death and the first year of my accession to the throne, we remember her long life, her dedication to service and what she has meant to all of us,” King Charles said.
Prime Minister Sunak also stressed the importance of Queen Elizabeth’s devotion and service to the country and to the members of the Commonwealth of Nations.
Saying that “the gratitude we feel for a life lived with such extraordinary dedication and service is increasing by the day,” Sunak said he was impressed by her intelligence, warmth and closeness during meetings with the Queen during her tenure as Minister of finance.
The heir to the British throne, Prince William of Wales, and his wife, Princess Catherine, will commemorate Queen Elizabeth with a religious ceremony in Wales.
The duo will also be attending the memorial service to be held at St Davids Cathedral in St Davids, during their meetings in Wales today. The ceremony, which is set to be brief, will receive no guests other than locals who have known the Queen in the past.
On the other hand, many ministries, institutions, organizations and associations commemorate Queen Elizabeth in the first year of her death with their posts on social networks.
Queen Elizabeth held the throne of England for 70 years, during which time she also served as the leader of the Commonwealth of Nations. King Carlos III, who ascended the throne after the queen’s death, announced that he was determined to carry on the queen’s legacy from her. (AA)
