Mobilization by agent who escaped from prison in England
The nationwide manhunt has intensified for Daniel Abed Khalife, a 21-year-old terror suspect who escaped under a truck from London’s HMP Wandsworth prison on Wednesday.
Khalife, a detained ex-soldier accused of “gathering information for a hostile country”, was on trial for terrorism. Khalife, considered a spy, escaped from the prison kitchen and got under a van on Wednesday, causing an uproar in the country.
British police gave chase to the ex-soldier, fanning out to many parks and open spaces. As police helicopters took off from the capital London this morning, there were disruptions to flights due to extensive security measures taken at airports.
Many parks and areas were also cordoned off and closed to access.
Khalife, who was expelled from the army on charges against him in May, is said to have fled the country.
