During his visit to Ukraine, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced a new $1 billion aid package for Ukraine and reported that there has been progress in Ukraine’s attack on Russia in recent weeks.

In Ukraine, where Blinken went “remarkably”, he met with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal and Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba. Speaking to the press before his meetings with Zelenskiy and Shmigal, Blinken stressed that the United States will continue to support Ukraine.

Blinken held a joint press conference after his meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Kuleba. Blinken claimed that Zelenskiy heard first-hand about his experiences on the front lines, saying: “There has been real progress in recent weeks in Ukraine’s attack on Russia.” saying.

Blinken, announcing the new $1 billion US aid package to Ukraine, said: “The ongoing counter-offensive has gained momentum in recent weeks. This momentum will accelerate with the new aid that we will give to Ukraine”. He used the phrase.

Under the aid package in question, Ukraine will receive $175 million in defense aid. This assistance includes High Performance Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) missiles, Javelin armor-piercing missile systems, anti-tank systems, and uranium munitions for Abrams tanks.

In addition, $300 million in the newly announced package includes police support to restore order in regions seized from Russia. $100 million of the package will go to “foreign military financing” and $206 million to humanitarian aid.
