Horrifying Boko Haram report: more than 35,000 dead

Elsie Mills-Tetty, head of the Adamawa Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), said in a statement that ongoing attacks by Boko Haram in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states in north-eastern Nigeria have negatively affected the country.

Mills-Tetty reported that more than 35,000 people have been killed since the terrorist attacks began in 2009. Mills-Tetty said that thousands of people were kidnapped during this period and said that the impact of these actions on economic and development cannot be ignored. Borno, Adamawa, Yobe and Nigeria in general.

Mills-Tetty added that the National Human Rights Commission was investigating human rights complaints in 2022 and helping victims seek compensation.
