Gabon opens borders after coup

In Gabon, the military administration announced the reopening of land, air and sea borders.

Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi, spokesman for the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI), made a statement on state television; he shared the information that the land, air and sea borders were reopened. Emphasizing that his goal is to maintain good relations with the rule of law, neighboring countries and the whole world, Manfoumbi said: “Gabon’s borders reopen three days after the coup.” He used the phrase.

Manfoumbi noted that Gabon is determined to honor its international commitments, noting that passengers entering and leaving Gabon can travel if they present their travel documents.

A group of soldiers who entered the building of Gabon’s national television on August 30 announced that they had taken over the administration. The military administration called the “Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI)” announced that the elections held on August 26 were canceled and the country’s borders closed.
