Tension increases on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry announced that the Armenian army opened mortar fire on Azerbaijani positions on the border.

In the ministry statement it was reported that the Armenian army opened fire on the Azerbaijani positions in front of it with 60mm and 82mm mortar shells from positions in the direction of the Zod settlement of Basargecher province. The statement states that the Azerbaijani army also took intervention measures in the indicated direction.

In another ministry statement, it was claimed that the mobile control station of the Armenian army’s unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) was destroyed. It was noted that this station is used to control UAVs that carry out reconnaissance and attacks on Azerbaijani positions in different directions.

As a result of the firing of the Armenian army against the Azerbaijani positions on the border yesterday, 3 Azerbaijani soldiers were injured and the Azerbaijani army retaliated. There were reports in the Armenian press that 4 Armenian soldiers lost their lives in the conflict. (AA)
