Netanyahu’s son fined
The Israeli Kefar Saba Magistrates Court has concluded the lawsuit filed by an activist named Dana Kashdi, a member of the opposition Blue-White Alliance, against Yair Netanyahu, accused of defamation and slander.
The court ordered the son of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to pay Kashdi 130,000 shekels (approximately $34,000) in compensation.
The decision states that Yair Netanyahu claimed that during the 2020 general election campaign period, Keşdi on his social media account and Yair Lapid, leader of the opposition and of the Blue-White Alliance in Israel, had a ” “close and inappropriate” relationship.
The decision stated that such publications could humiliate the author and constitute an embarrassment and an insult to him.
When Yair appeared in court as part of the case in April, he argued that Benny Gantz’s main goal was to get back at him.
Son Netanyahu claimed that Gantz could not sue him and claimed that he was “using Dana Kashdi as a pawn”.
KEŞDI PRESENTED A CASE FOR 500 THOUSAND SEKELS
The Jerusalem Post article states that Kashdi sought compensation of 500,000 shekels (approximately $131,000) from Yair Netanyahu in the case.
Yair Netanyahu was reported to have made these social media posts during the 2020 general election campaign period.
While Yair Netanyahu has yet to make a statement on the court decision, it is unclear if he will appeal the decision.
USA DENIED
Yair Netanyahu had previously come to the fore with his social media account, which he shared with his father’s opponents.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu placed restrictions on his son Yair’s use of social media in March.
