“Monkey” alert ahead of the G20 Summit

In India, ahead of the G20 Leaders Summit to be held on September 9-10, some measures were taken in the capital New Delhi to keep monkeys away from visitors and places that will be used during the top.

According to the BBC report, local authorities made plans to prevent monkeys from damaging visitors and venues during the G20 summit.

Noting that one of the measures is to prepare life-size cardboard cutouts of “grey langur” monkeys to scare the monkeys away, the officials specified that the cardboards will be hung in places where the monkeys are frequently seen, as well as in hotels where the monkeys are found. Delegates who will attend the summit will stay.

The authorities reported that between 30 and 40 trained people who can imitate the sounds of the langurs will also be deployed to scare away the monkeys. (AA)
