No word yet on 338 people in Hawaii

Maui County officials in Hawaii shared the information that 338 people are still missing as a result of work done since the fire started. The authorities reported that as of yesterday noon, they managed to reach 1,732 more people than those who were trapped in the area of the fire, and indicated that the victims’ state of health was good.

Maui Police Chief John Pelletier said in a written statement: “(Missing list) We are posting this list today because we know it will help the investigation. This is not an easy thing to do, but we want to make sure we are doing everything possible so that the investigation is as complete and exhaustive as possible,” he made statements.

115 PEOPLE LOSE LIVES

The list, which was allegedly compiled with the support of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) officials, reveals the magnitude of the disaster and is the largest list of victims in the region after a forest fire in the last century.

The official death toll in the wildfires was last announced at 115. US President Joe Biden visited Hawaii on August 22, vowing to help those injured in the fire. (AA)
